Regardless of what we may think, Facebook is still the number one social site out there. Even though most of us are over on Google+ hanging out all the time, many of us are still using Facebook on occasion. So we’ve gone through the thousands of apps on the Play Store and found the top 10 best Facebook apps, this includes Facebook messaging apps as well. So let’s get it started with number ten.
Tired of having Twitter, Foursquare and Facebook apps all on your phone? Well Scope might be the solution. Scope is the Android version of SocialScope for Blackberry which has been beta for a long time on that platform and quite awhile in the Android world as well. It’s not on the Play Store and anyone can use it. You can use Scope to keep track of your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare, and Tumblr all in one nifty app.
Hootsuite is another app similar to Scope. With Hootsuite you can manage multiple social networks all at once. This includes Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. It also works a lot faster than the official Facebook app, but the UI isn’t as nice looking. In fact it could use a major overhaul, hopefully Hootsuite is listening and will redo the interface soon.
Friendcaster is just a third-party Facebook app. No other social networks involved here. As Friendcaster says “Experience Facebook Chat, Done Right” and we actually agree. The interface is much nicer and noticeably faster than the official Facebook, which we’ll get to a bit later. So if you’re looking for a new Facebook chat app, Friendcaster Chat might be the one you’re looking for.
Friendcaster is made by OneLouder Apps, the same guys that bring you Tweetcaster and BaconReader for Twitter and Reddit respectively. The Friendcaster app is a great alternative to the official Facebook app, if you like many others have problems with Facebook’s Android app.
Seesmic was originally a Twitter app. But later brought in support for Facebook along with Facebook pages. Seesmic is a pretty good looking app, with a great Interface and plenty of features. It does support multiple accounts so you can use your Facebook account along with all your pages and post to them all at the same time. Very cool and convenient.
